I seem to remember that there were some more wrecks at Selma, wasn't the Owl wrecked there also.

On 2-12-37 there was a derailment of train #26 at Selma where an intoxicated driver got his car wedged in a switch, walked away from the scene when #26, making approximately 40 mph, hit the automobile derailing the engine, tender, and 6 cars. The engineer and fireman were killed. Oh, and the locomotive was the 2479.

yes, and oh my, they must all have been blinded by not wearing safety glasses with permanently attached sideshields too! Not to mention run over for not wearing their high-vis. Thanks for taking us back to a time when common sense and hard work prevailed over slogans and knee jerk reactionaries.

Amen to that!! How much simpler would life be without OSHA????
