In this case, the Geep is the former NKP 549. You can see the lift bridge over the Chicago River in the background. I'd guess this was taken from Roosevelt Rd (12th Street) and that this is a commuter train from the SW suburbs.

That's the year when Southern retired its SD24's, and the unit might have already been off the Southern roster by then. |
