That's #57, AKA the "ARRO", the GM autos and auto parts train to the Bay Area. Will hand off to UP at the Bluffs and then to SP at Ogden.

Wonder what that Vert-A-Pac is doing at Sheffield. Bad order set-out, perhaps?

Is the detached car in the foreground one of those tilt side auto carriers?

As I understood those cars, the side is sectional and hinged at the base. The side swings down to form a ramp of sorts. Then the vehicle is driven on to the ramp and secured. The side with the car on it is then pulled up to the closed position.

That's the Vert-A-Pac, hauled Chevy Vegas. Lots of problems with fluids leaking out of the vehicles, they didn't last long.
