Nostalgia & History > Centennials On The WP? (New Photo)Date: 05/23/07 21:30 Centennials On The WP? (New Photo) Author: mojaveflyer In the last days of the Centennial units on the UP, they had some interesting assignments... Here's one leading a Z Train westbound on the former WP main approaching Sand Pass, NV, (between Winnemucca, CA and Portola, CA)shot on Ektachrome 400 with a Mamiya 645 camera.
Ok... A larger photo was attached so it should be easier to see if you want to open it. Thanks for looking! Date: 05/23/07 21:32 Re: Centennials On The WP? Author: WAF Can you blow it up? (the picture, not the train)

UP 6936 and 6946 share a little sandhouse talk at the WP Diesel Shop in Portola, now home to the Western Pacific RR Museum.

There is definitely two different number styles. I can only surmise that at some time one of them was damaged and replaced with one that does not match the other. Any comment?
