The information noted in the first paragraph is in error.Never in it's entire history was the OBS ever a streamline train.All Pullman and all heavyweight.It started in 1925 and lasted until spring 1953.

The 844/Johnny Cash piece is excellent. That is a candidate for the better files on U Tube.

J.C. did a couple of live albums in the late '60's, from Folsom and San Quentin. One of those has a spirited "OBS" on it that really rolls down the track.

There are some rousing versions of that song, but the sexiest one I ever witnessed was by Elana James (formerly Elana Fremmerman) of Hot Club of Cowtown.
