Nostalgia & History > Crankin em out of the paint shop in Sacremento in 86Date: 08/12/07 16:05 Crankin em out of the paint shop in Sacremento in 86 Author: M-420 In 86, I happened to be passing through Sacremento on one of those nasty hazy 150 degree valley mornings and shot this photo at the shops. The SP guys were busy spraying yellow and red as is obvious from this line up of tunnel motors. The 9182, 9192 and her sisters were very shiny and you could smell the new paint.
I can't say that I liked that paint job much. In particular, the red numberboards were just bizarre. You have to wonder how different things would be today in the west had the merger gone through.
