Thats a rare (to the mainlines)and good sounding Nathan M-3 horn up top of the RGW SD40T-2 unit on the point down at the abandon mine roll by scene.

In the last portion of the video, you can see F40 #231 as the second unit. I believe that this is the unit that now belongs to Chris.

Also, is the Amtrak train that we're seeing a combined California Zephyr/Desert Wind? The placement of the cars makes me think it might be.

Indeed thisis the combined Zephyr - Desert Wind.

When I wrapped out from location I took the Desert Wind back to Los Angeles.

Great ride, wish we could do it again.

Just curious, what is causing the odd cropping off and on throughout the video footage?
Seems to be the most obvious at the beginning and end of many of the edited shots?

What you are looking at is some advanced steady effects. All this footage is handheld and the video shakes all over the place. Special software during editing is able to steady the footage. What you are seeing with the video bars is the shakeyness being taken out. The more black bars you see the more shakey the footage was.

Nice video, except for the shakiness.

I believe the F40 is #241.
