1 - reporting marks on Southern Pacific 50ft double door boxcar #171273 and blt 3-56. Taken in Santa Barbara on 11-22-74 at 1:12 PM.
2 - SP #560325 40ft flat taken in Santa Barbara 7-21-74 at 12:27 PM. Anybody have an idea of what is on the flat car?
3 - SP #615261 86ft 8 door outside braced box car taken 12-13-77 at 2:04 PM in Santa Barbara.

Those are Daleks on the flat car!

As for the first box car, the ACI label identifies the car as SP 231057, and it looks like it may have been rebuilt to a single-door car (the panel on the left might not be original).

They look like gun turrets bound for the US Navy!! 3" maybe?

I dunno. If those are Daleks, we need to call the Doctor. Do I hear the Police Box coming?

I was going by the info on the slides and sometimes I take a stab at the length of cars. Sometimes I get it right and sometimes I don't. Should have a complete shot of the car in photo #1. Let's hope I didn't get my car marks screwed up, which is not impossible. Believe that car was in a string of cars on a westbound peddler that died in SB. I was just walking along and photographing some of the cars. A lot of SP ones of course.
