Going back to SPs Coastline in the '70s, this photo was taken November 25, 1977. Extra 8604 West passes by the Capitan siding sign with two SD45s another U33C and another EMD unit on a reefer block. Most likely empties headed up to the Santa Maria and Salinas areas for loading of produce. Train was doing about 50 MPH. I like the way the fireman is just resting on the arm rest and looking south toward the Ocean, or Santa Barbara Channel toward one of the islands at this point, if you prefer.
