Remember the NZ?
Author: xtra1188w

No, not New Zealand. This NZ is the Nebraska Zephyr equipment sitting in Denver not too long gefore it got loaded on a ship for Saudi Arabia. Sorry about the lousy pictures, just remember the old saw about "a lousy picture is better than no picture". sometimes I wonder about that though.

That's also a Nebraska Zephyr. Guess they needed two sets to cover daily service?

Actually, the NZ sets were originally built for Chicago - Twin Cities service. They cars were named after characters from Greek mythology; one train featured male names, the other female names which gave rise to the nicknames "Gods" and "Goddesses". When the Twin Cities Zephyr was re-equipped with Budd equipment, the sets inaugurated the 'new' Nebraska Zephyr.

Along with one of the articulated Denver Zephyr sets, the train of the "Gods" is in Saudi Arabia. The "Goddesses" is at the IRRM.

Burlington John
