Nostalgia & History > York, NE '98Date: 11/23/08 10:29 York, NE '98 Author: 3rdswitch A little variety from a short visit to York, NE located on BNSF’s very busy coal line from Alliance to Lincoln, NE in 8-98.

I didn't shoot any trains in York as we were headed for Grand Island and the UP/BN Diamond. Thanks for posting those. Bob H. PRose Date: 11/24/08 13:19 Re: York, NE '98 Author: ntharalson Very nice shots.
I visited the York area a couple of years earlier when the 70MAC's were just being delivered. I can see that the friend that was with me and I missed some good spots. However, just east of York, there is a huge "S" curve that we did quite well on. We were chasing a couple of loads east at the time, which was possible in those days. The former Burlington line between Lincoln and Alliance is one of those "must" visit places, even with today's wide-nosed GE's and EMDs.
