I wonder if NW2 5 of the Des Moines Union Railway (image #3) is an ex-Wabash unit - the all black body, with yellow sill and pilot striping, is identical to how they painted their switchers. The B&O Lima and the CB&Q GE 44 Tonner are FANTASTIC! Thanks for sharing your FINE vintage images with us! DMU was co-owned by the Wabash and the Milwaukee. That is probably the reason for the paint. -Justin |
