East Bay railroading early 70's
Author: photobob

A westbound train rolls past the Rodeo Depot lead by 3565 and SD45 9071 in the early 70's. The SP still had a few of their classic wooden depots still hanging around.

Bob,

Awesome image! Can't believe its all gone now! What a drastic change...I'm still not used to the past/present pictures and I was born in 1988!

Is that a big 76 sign over the refinery in the background? I remember that used to be a Union 76 refinery when I was younger and now I think it's Tesoro. Too bad the station is long gone.

The 3565 is a survivor. It is now SP 2873 at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, CA.
