A few shots at the Chessie ex-C&O yard during one of the excursion trips from the 1979 NRHS Convention.

(1) U30B #8228 and GP40-2 #4262 are "protecting" Southern (CP) #2839 as it prepares to be turned on the turntable.
This was during one of the excursion trips from the 1979 NRHS Convention out of Washington DC. I believe we came down on the C&O and went back on the Southern (what a great convention that was!).

(2) The 2839 will be turned and head to the Southern station for the trip back. First it will have to be rerailed due to a "slight" derailment on the turntable.
