That'll do esspee 7502!

In February of 1989, a 58 car Southern Pacific train (led by the 7502) derailed in the heart of Manteca, CA. Many of the cars were off the track, but there were no injuries. Photo February 20, 1989.

I was a photographer for the Manteca Bulletin, so this was big news!

Mess, but all those detours through places like Los Banos made for some interesting
pictures.

I remember that!! Next to Moffat Road and about one mile away from the old Spreckels sugar factor.

Hi Steve. Nice pic's of a derailment that my Dad and I stumbled across minute's after it happened. The dust had'nt even settled yet. My Dad was concerned about a potential leaking car so we hi tailed it out of there. This was the first train derailment I had ever seen and it made an impression. Thank's for posting!!!
