I was just wanting to know if Amtrak used 2800 series 10-5 (not 10-6) heritage sleepers in phase 3 paint on any of its trains in the southeast during the 80/90's. Thanks in advance. Chris Date: 10/25/10 16:35 Re: Amtrak 2800 series 10-5 sleepers Author: bnsfbob KV1guy Wrote:

Most of those cars were gone by 1970. Date: 10/26/10 08:22 Re: Amtrak 2800 series 10-5 sleepers Author: The_Chief_Way Amtrak got some of the ATSF Blues but just for parts
none were ever put back in service Date: 10/26/10 14:38 Re: Amtrak 2800 series 10-5 sleepers Author: wag216 The ATSF "Blue"s were 10-3-2s. The ATSF only had two 10-5s; Cascade Mills and Cascade Shoals. They were moved to dorm.service and scrapped by the ATSF. My AMTK roster does that all 2800 series were 10Rmt-6DrBrm. wag216

The compartments were sold as bedrooms.
