Nostalgia & History > EL -Forgotten treasuresDate: 11/04/10 09:47 EL -Forgotten treasures Author: refarkas When I first started railfanning, I used High Speed Ektachrome push-processed to ASA 400 in my back-up camera. After switching to Kodachrome, I put the Ektachromes away not to be seen again until now. While these are by no means perfect, they show two sides of the EL that I rarely captured. I guess you could call these forgotten treasures.
Photo one: It's January 7, 1973, and EL 803 heads a westbound underneath the Interstate 76 bridge in downtown Akron, Ohio. Today there are only two tracks at this location. Photo two: Westbound EL 3326 runs long-end forward (common for a short while) under the Akron Union Station walkbridge connecting the ex-B&O station and the Greyhound bus terminal in this 1973 slide.
