They would cut the power off the commute cars and make a long string of locomotives right in front of us to send up to Oakland to work freights over the weekend. I happened to be up by Schellville one Saturday when a freight pulled by SDP45's pulled into Schellville yard. They cut off the train and picked up a waiting train and headed back out.
