I have to admit, those horns on either side of the cab look neat, but was there a reason why they did that? was there a clearence problem somewhere on the GM&O? neat style, but curious.

I've seen some of the early AT&SF 30s with 'em on both sides, only one on each side.

Pretty nice scans, esp the CRR/GM&O units that one would think would be hard to get a decent scans from Kodachrome ...... what are you using ?

Kodachrome - even older chromes, hold up very well over the years. I have original Kodachromes of me as a toddler and the color is still excellent. Oh, and we're talking about circa early 1950s.

Really nice stuff, JB. Been to all three of those hangouts, myself, at some point along the way.

Oh yea Ken, Kodachrome will hold up longer than anything no dispute there. But certain types of scenes tend to be hard to scan nicely.
