Nostalgia & History > One of my better "glint shots" was a grab shot.....Date: 08/16/11 14:47 One of my better "glint shots" was a grab shot..... Author: ATSF100WEST Returning from Pacific Grove after spending some time with friends back in August of '97, as we came around the curve on Highway 101 at Gaviota, I noticed the Starlight (#11) was just entering the trestle. He wasn't running at normal speed, as he had a WB UP clearing out for him down a ways. So I sped up, saw the spot I figured would work out, pulled off the road, and ran like hell. He was just entering the curve where the end of the train is in the image. It would be the last time I photographed F40PH's on a Amtrak LD train.

Sometimes, a "grab shot" will exceed all expectations! Been there, done that. JCL Date: 08/16/11 16:03 Re: One of my better "glint shots" was a grab shot..... Author: ATSF100WEST Thank you, Bob and John! I appreciate the kind words. Good to be back in the scanning mode again!
