Interesting, top photo actually looks like vehicle was hit and pushed toward the crossing?

#1 looks like 1940's. Right side shadow looks like shadow of vertical wig-wag in photo 2
#2.

Verdugo Avenue is where the old SP Burbank Depot was, it's now the Southern end of Metrolink's Burbank Station parking lot.
That is the Depot where the W/B Daylight is standing I believe.

As a "car guy" who owns a 48 Chev Coupe and a 50 Chev PU - "these hurt".

That coupe would be one valuable car today. The second on looks like a 34 or 35 Chev sedan.

Trains and old cars, what more could a guy want?

Thanks for sharing!

The car in the first photo looks like a 39 or 40 mercury convertible....I own two 41 Caddy Convertibles......

forget the accident, check out the fully "accessorized" wig-wag. This one's a keeper.

That Jergens factory was there until the 1990s, I believe.

This crossing was closed off long before that.

Looking carefully at the box car in the second photo, the "Handle With Care" placard had to be tacked up there
by a really tall mudhop. Probably could only be done at a loading dock. Wouldn't happen today; not safe.

I find it curious that the wig-wag has an additional bell mounted on the standard.
