Nostalgia & History > Happy Holidays and Best Wishes to AllDate: 12/23/11 09:11 Happy Holidays and Best Wishes to All Author: PRose Not a freight coming into the yard. It is my Daylight Switch
Engines in the East Yard at Salina. At this time, standard yard power was a single GP30 or 35. This winter day, -10, the good old 40 mph Kansas Wind, is in evidence doing its thing on the lead box car. The fuel has jelled on my usual Geep, making it necessary for me to steal the Salina to Oakley Local Power, with a "Snoot to Boot". I was going to shoot some extras for "Kansas Gang" fans, as was the custom back then, but this is the only one my Pentax could muster. The shutter froze after this one shot. February 3, 1983. Thanks for looking, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to All. Bob Helling PRose Date: 12/23/11 09:24 Re: Happy Holidays and Best Wishes to All Author: glcaddis I remember those cold winter days with the wind. We have the same issues here in Illinois, but the sky is never that blue. Home on the Range is where I'd like to be this Christmas. Best to you, Bob.
