Date: 02/07/12 00:12 Re: A few from a 10-05-86 trip to Tehachapi Pass Author: Fizzboy7 Wow, that's 15 units on the oil cans train! I'd hate to be riding in that caboose if that train derailed.
Great shots! Date: 02/07/12 04:13 Re: A few from a 10-05-86 trip to Tehachapi Pass Author: ats90mph This is the Tehachapi that I have fond memories of.

In 1981 I built a color darkroom to make prints from slides, soon it became clear that better results were easier to obtain from using color negatives due to the excessive contrast of prints made from slides. IMHO I know about masks but that was not something I was interested in using. This is an extended explanation about the scanning question.
These are scans from 6x7 color negatives taken with a Pentax 67 and scanned with a dinosaur, a Minolta Dimage Scan Multi. Dinosaur? It uses a SCSI connection, no digital clean up, 1128 maximum dpi and no upgraded Minolta software for Windows 7. Fortunately Hamrick software's VueScan works with the scanner and Windows 7 and using a Google search some software was found made by Polaroid years ago that helps with the cleanup of dust and scratches. All these negatives have been added to an Excel spreadsheet which helps find a particular frame. So how do I convert my 35mm slides to 6x7 color negatives??? :-) |
