Nostalgia & History > Porterville CA--ex-SP depot for Station Saturday

The former Southern Pacific depot in Porterville CA is now the local history museum. When I went through P'ville in 2010 the track has just been lifted, but no trains had gone through there for some time. But all is not lost--at least there's a steam engine on display, just not the kind that runs on rails. I didn't get any pix of the former Santa Fe station on this trip, but, as far as I know, it still exists as a senior citizens' center. The town is in Tulare County, southeast of Visalia.
