More Eagle Mountain Railroad
Author: Alco251

Kaiser Steel locomotive engineer Jerry Allen poses three Eagle Mountain Railroad U30Cs on the Coachella Canal bridge, January 17, 1983, for the benefit of a carload of visiting railfans. At this point, the railroad was operating on a sporadic basis transporting stockpiled coarse and fine ores for domestic buyers.

Thanks for sharing another great Eagle Mountain RR photo!!! The Coachella Canal was replaced by a parallel concrete lined channel back about 4 years ago. It would to the photographers left in above photo. The old channel and bridge remain, but now is bone dry. The builders of the new canal channel chose a concerte siphon structure to pass under the railroad. This bridge was also the location where in the 1986 movie Tough Guys, one of the "bad guys" is pushed from the 4449 into the water below.
