Some new ideas struting about

From my collection,unmarked slides and unknown photographers box,

GE 753 Los Angles Ca 4-61
GE 754 Denver Co 8-61
Alco 636-1 Altoona Pa 5-68

Things sure have changed since this were all new to the railroading industry.Check out those steps on the GE's.

No. 1 is at Southern Pacific's Taylor Yard in Los Angeles.

Those C-636's sure were great looking units. I know they didn't run so well in the U.S. (although the Canadians seemed to do much better with them...), but they looked tough.
