Heavenly Light at Welby Yard
Author: GrandeGold

Working the Midvale Tramp local nearly 32 years after a release from LaGrange, Rio Grande 3015, 3003, and 3007 make a switch move in D&RGW's Welby Yard in West Jordan, Utah.

A passing thunderstorm left its mark both on the ground and in the sky on a warm President's Day, 1994.

That is a fantastic shot, but 1994 or 1984? Mid nineties seems late for a trio of DRGW GP30's!

It was wonderful while it lasted. The GP30s all but disappeared from Utah locals after the UP-SP merger in 1996. A handful continued to work assignments out of Denver into the late 1990s.

Love those shots with dark stormy clouds in the background, sunny subject.

DRGW GP30s are my all time favorites.
