Trains #102 and 103 had expedited 14 hour schedules, delivering piggyback traffic (with a single crew change) between Denver and Salt Lake City for $299.
D&RGW GP40-2 #3129 is pictured on a bitter cold early morning in February 1987. Train 103 is about a dozen miles or so from tying up (on time) at Rio Grande's Piggyback Terminal in South Salt Lake.
