Author: RI4444 While playing with Google Earth it looks like big pieces of track are completely gone.If this is "rail-banked" and inactive but not abandoned,how can parts be missing?Please correct me if i am wrong.TIA
Date: 02/15/13 22:25 Re: RI StLouis-KC question. Author: BlackWidow From what I know, abandonment is a legal status and has nothing to do whether or not track is in place. The track can be removed but the line not abandoned, and lines can be abandoned, but the track is still there. If a line is not abandoned, track can be relaid and trains started up at any time without any kind of regulatory approval.
