Heres an article about the accident the RDC was in, apparently near Fort Seward.

It went to the Galveston Railroad Museum and was among the equipment swamped by Hurricane Ike. I haven't heard that it's been cut up, but three years ago the story going around was that the museum wanted to sell or otherwise get rid of it.
