Train time at Martinez 1960 style

Train 51 the "San Joaquin Daylight" is just arriving at Martinez after an all day run up the valley from Los Angeles. Kids on the platform have just witnessed the ritual of grabbing orders while anxiously awaiting the arrival of Grandparents from far off Fresno.

Looks like orders are ready for Train 12, the "Cascade".

After Scarlet and Gray and snowplows, but before icicle bars. Nice time of day for trainwatching!

I'm curious how often regular trains in this D-251 double track territory got orders. Maybe it was just a clearance so the DS would get an OS time?

Could be anything, slow order just put out , something taken out of or put in service, could have been a General or Timetable requirement.

You don't think the operator at Martinez OSed
all trains? Why not?

If it's an open train order office, which apparently it is, then I would think that the operator would OS any and all trains regardless if they picked up orders or not.
