Three more shots of SP cabooses on trains using the SP Coastline Route.

1 - SP caboose #1978 on a 126 car Eastbound train at Ortega Siding in Summerland, California. The train was led by SD45s #9000 and 9140, SD9 Rebuilds #4450 and 4451, and GP9 3417. Photo was taken on January 3rd, 1976. Highway 101 is just to the left on the other side of the trees.
2 - SP train #830 led by U33C #8752 meets the caboose on train #829 led by SD45T-2 #9158 going through Santa Barbara on January 13th, 1976.
3 - SP caboose #4026 on a Westbound train picks up orders at the Santa Barbara station. The train was led by SD40 #8429, and SD45T-2s #9361 and 9216. Photo was taken on January 23rd, 1976.

Weird seeing the location at shot #1 with a siding, so used to seeing it siding-less.

Great stuff. I agree, it's strange seeing a siding under the overpass.

nice pics, I think the fun thing I remember as a kid was me and my dad got invited inside one and that actually was pretty cool! Anyone else had that experience?

Pic #2, I love the Espee but that's the dirtiest caboose ever.

But the paint looks great where the retroreflective tape has fallen off of the bay window bulge.

Again, thanks. I was on 3/830 with the 6584-9081-6594 on 1-23-76. OD SLO at 7:15AM, tied up in LA at 5:45PM.
