KCCharlie Date: 04/28/13 08:29 Re: More Penn-Central Author: pecosvalleychief Well that really messed with my head. I visit two forums on the interwebz, Trainorders and one for my other hobby, Corvairs. Where am I?!?!
http://corvaircenter.com/phorum/list.php?1 That's a '66 Corsa btw, 140hp 4-carb engine. I have a '61 Lakewood wagon myself. Always cool when interests collide. Date: 04/28/13 09:12 Re: More Penn-Central Author: icancmp193 Geez our Jersey plate for years was "EXC 223". You weren't too far behind us in the numbering series! Love the Corvairs!
Tom Y Date: 04/28/13 09:21 Re: More Penn-Central Author: Tony_Cook Corvairs and Railfanning were part of my youth too. Here's my Dad's black Corvair with my Mom and I watching a GM&O freight in my hometown of Jerseyville, IL in 1968.

Ed K." Paxton blowers are rare as hens' teeth and really pricey these days. Here are some of my toys. '64 Spyder convertible, '65 Corsa turbo convertible, and my current project, '61 Lakewood 700 wagon. Date: 04/28/13 21:28 Re: More Penn-Central Author: Out_Of_Service nothing like a push button transmission ... my buddy's dad had a corvair ... i was always impressed with the lack of gear shift handle ... i had 2 cars i wanted to buy a 1970 Karmann Ghia and a 1971 Austin Healey but my pop wouldn't loan me the money ... he didn't think it was worth the '73 prices for either vehicle and tried to explain to me the parts on those cars would cost more than the cars if they broke down ... $1300 for the German KG or $1700 for the AH British 4 wheeler ... i just wanted a cool car to drive around ... i wound up with a 69 4 door rambler ... that was my pop ... very practical

All of us Corvair guys are amused by this misconception and have no idea where it came from. No Corvair ever had a push-button transmission selector, that was Chrysler products. Corvair automatics had the shift selector on the dash. I'd love to know how this got started. Date: 05/02/13 13:53 Re: More Penn-Central Author: mkostecky Gateway97 Wrote:
