Nostalgia & History >Date: 10/30/13 10:31 Author: locogimp Back on August 16, 1994 I caught this train in the siding at Anita (SP Valley Subdivision) where it was down for a few eastbound (northbound directionally) trains, and thus needed to cut the train in order to clear one of the rural road crossings in the area. Since we saw mostly EMD units in this neck of the woods, this was kind of a rare catch for me.

The 8100's were first bought for Utah coal service. Once the AC's arrived a year later, they spread out to taconite trains to the east and general service on the Sunset Route. |
