Meets Monday in Kingman Canyon
Author: Railfan4Christ

May 27th,1995 I made a trip up to Yucca, AZ between Needles and Kingman for a day of shooting. The weather report the day before said plenty of sun, but when I awoke this day to overcast skies, I was fit to be tied. Time was running out on the Santa Fe Railway, soon to be merged with BN. I was so disappointed that I decided to head back to Goodyear (Phoenix). Santa Fe 553 east was heading up to Kingman so I decided to get one last shot with the train on the bride in Kingman Canyon. Thanks be to God, along came 567 west to make a beautiful ending to a weekend that I had given up hope on.

Thanks for looking back with me.

Tom

Some great luck with that one. It most certainly turned into a "keeper."

Almost looks like a model railroad. Great catch!

Not much question what railroad THAT was, eh? I could kick myself for the many times I have driven along the old Santa Fe on my way from southern Cal to visit daughter in Kingman, and not bothering to shoot photos of those infernal diesels. The warbonnet scheme was a beautiful thing, even for old steam curmudgeons. Great photo, Tom.

Doggone if that doesn't look a little bit like a model railroad!

Outstanding! I had a similar situation closer in to Kingman once, one of my most exciting moments railfanning.
