After spending two years in the Army I came home in 1967 to find a lot of changes in SP's motive power. To find these SDP's powering SP's passenger trains was a real shock. I ventured over to Oakland to catch 3204 heading up the Portland bound Cascade leaving 16th St. Notice the "From the land of sky blue waters" Hamms Beer box car on the right of 3204. Their brewery was across the bay in San Francisco.

What did you think when you observed that train numbers in the indicators
were no more (except on the Peninsula Commutes)?

Amazed that the semaphores a Oakland lasted into 1967.
