Train Order Tuesday on the Tip-Up!
Author: NebraskaZephyr

On February 27, 1956, Toledo, Peoria & Western Train No. 21 (Effner, IN to East Peoria, IL) grabbed these orders at Gilman, IL, where the TP&W crossed two IC lines, the Chicago-Cairo "Main Line of Mid-America" and the Chicago-St. Louis route, which split from the main just north of the diamonds. The operator there, located in the depot at the diamonds, handled orders for both roads.
The power on No. 21 is TP&W 100, one of their two F3s (along with 101, the former "B" unit with a cab homebuilt in the TP&W shops).

1. Clearance card, showing two orders, Nos. 10 and 11.

2. Order 10, giving 21 a right-over-and wait for eastbound No. 24, led by TP&W 206, a RS2.

3. Order 11, giving 21 right over eastbound counterpart No. 22 all the way to (East) Peoria Yard. Evidently 22 isn't going to be ready to depart anytime soon, as Gilman to East Peoria was roughly 83 miles and well over an hour away on the unsignaled main line.

Thanks for looking,

NZ

Great train orders and thanks for including the timetable pages that are needed to understand the moves.

All you need to run a railroad: phones, railroad watch, rulebook, timetable and train orders.

Snatch the orders out of the hoop and plunge into the darkness against the opposing trains.

THAT IS RAILROADING !!
