Nostalgia & History > "Vintage" BNSF from 2001Date: 07/27/14 15:24 "Vintage" BNSF from 2001 Author: pummer While rummaging around some old slides, I came across this one from October 2001. A photo of a train with a solid collection of units wearing Cascade Green was pretty mundane. What made this a favorite was the Fall scenery of the Mississippi River valley, just a few miles north of East Dubuque, Illinois. Today, the internet would be buzzing with the latest report on the whereabouts of such a consist.

hand. For those unfamiliar with this location, this is the US61 overpass between Dubuque and Wisconsin, a busy, four lane, 65mph (in Wisconsin) highway with lots of trucks. I'm not too sure of the advisability of stopping for this shot, there was construction and a lane closure when I did mine, but the results are worth the effort. Nice shot. I parked behind the guard rail on the eastern approach to the bridge, walked and waited for a shot standing behind a wayward construction barrel.
