Marysville CA - Then & Now
Author: CrudPunko

On June 2, 1978 a pit stop in Marysville while returning from the Feather River Canyon found SN GP7 712 doing local switching just west of the WP Marysville station.

Fast forward to July 2014 and we see the same area (though down 50 yards or so) and we see where the spur track once was. (© KPR Media Services, all rights reserved)

Meanwhile, a month before the first photo, on May 6, 1978, I stopped in at Yuba City to see what was in town at the Sacramento Northern yard. It was a Sunday and both SN SW1 402 and NW2u 607 were tied up, waiting for their next assignments. Today, this area is almost unrecognizable. (© KPR Media Services, all rights reserved)

Last shot, power for the Tarke Local, when the bridge was whole and the
warehouse still shipped. WAY back when.

So cool. And all three engines survive today.

SN 712 is in Portola.

SN 402 is in Sacramento.

and SN 607, as NSRM 1000, is at Boulder City, NV.

Great look back and yes Yuba City has totally changed with pretty much all traces of the WP and SP gone.
