An interesting meet of SP 7315 E. Oil Cans train and ATSF 8021 W

1. SP SD40M 7315 leads the "Oil Cans" train at Woodford siding on Tehachapi Pass, CA
2. The 6th of 8 units on the point is GP35 6302. One of the few 4 axle locos that I have seen on the Oil Cans train
3. ATSF C30-7 8021 leads a WB freight past 7315 E.

Thanks Don, that was great.

Nice that the entire Santa Fe train passed before the SP mid-train helpers arrived.

I miss the sound of many EMD 645-series engines at full throttle. Great sound--not muffled, restricted or impeded. Pure, raw sound of power.

Great set of progressive photos. Really shows the massiveness of those trains. Thanks for sharing these.

Funny, the look out seems to be reclined on the helper. Mmmm, must have been me.

Kind of ironic that it's a Radio Control Master.

Absolutely stunning photos. Not even winning the lottery could bring back this perfect scene.
Minor quibble: The lead unit is an SD40R, not SD40M.
