Santa Fe GP7 & CF7 at ConroeTx -- Sept 76

(1) GP7 #2758 and CF7 #2488 are tied up for the weekend at Conroe,Tx.
Looking east on the Santa Fe Somerville to Silsbee line.

(2) builders plate for #2758

(3) The nice Conroe station was still there.
The crossing is with the Missouri Pacific Palestine-Houston line.
Conroe is about 40 miles north of Houston.

In the 80's the local historical society was working to save the Conroe MP station and it appeared things were about worked out when one night it mysteriously burned down.

That seems to happen a lot. As I recall, a similar scenario took place in Pittsburg, CA a few years back involving the old SP depot.
