Great shots, and thanks for taking the time to upgrade photo #2. The original scheme on those three F45's powering the "Super C" is what I remember best, even though I spent considerable time on and along the ATSF in the "Yellowbonnet" era. Thanks again... Been wanting to ask this for awhile: Why did Santa Fe get F45s? I can see the FP45's for passenger aesthetics, but why a cowled freight engine? Date: 09/17/14 14:16 Re: few Santa Fe 45's . . . Author: Cajon92 Nice series.

At one time there was a small crossing tender's tower at Valley Blvd. north of the diamonds in Colton: http://coastdaylight.com/sb/colton_quaas.html http://swrails.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/colton_crossing.jpg Date: 09/18/14 04:14 Re: few Santa Fe 45's . . . Date: 09/18/14 18:21 Re: few Santa Fe 45's . . . Author: 3rdswitch There is/was a UP connecting track just to my right barely out of view that still exists for UP trains to go to and from the BNSF San Bernardino Sub but has been upgraded from a yard track to a CTC mainline.
