Adam just posted another shot of the SP 6811, the same engine as you caught leading at Industry:} http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,3525364 Date: 09/18/14 14:59 Re: SP in the LA Basin, 1989 Author: chrisbutts These all look familiar...

Ron Butts Lincoln, CA Date: 09/18/14 16:03 Re: SP in the LA Basin, 1989 Author: hoggerdoug Is this a sister unit from the 174?? in your images Paint scheme looks the same, can't track down any info on this one. If it is a former ITS unit, it went "north of the border" and froze to death. Doug

In photo one, ID'd as CoI, can you tell me where that was at Industry? It just doesn't look familiar. V SLOCONDR Date: 09/18/14 17:15 Re: SP in the LA Basin, 1989 Author: RonSD70 V, my memory is fading, but I am pretty sure this is on the UP main along Crossroads Parkway just east of the 60 freeway.

Your memory hasn't faded that much. It is indeed along the UP adjacent to Crossroads Pkwy between COI and Bartolo. Two main tracks there now! It is, of course, the UP main and not the SP main and that is where I got confused. V SLOCONDR Date: 09/19/14 06:06 Re: SP in the LA Basin, 1989 Author: Cajon92 Great series of shots, Ron. Thanks for sharing,
~Ryan Date: 09/19/14 07:39 Re: SP in the LA Basin, 1989 Author: CimaScrambler Those haulers often had an interesting mix of new and older power - SD45s and tunnel motors mixed with SD9s and Geeps. Seemed like if it could turn an axle it was in the consist.
