I wonder if it's on the maiden run as it looks brand new. No doubt the MILW advertising department would have wanted everyone to know about their new equipment so it probably drew a good crowd.

We now have two Number 1's! One from the steam era, one from the diesel era, cool!!! Ya gotta love the Milwaukee Road!

The second photo was taken in Milwaukee near the Milwaukee Road depot.

AND the CB&Q, the Chicago & Northwestern, the Rock Island, and the IC's route west to the Missouri River.

The position light dwarf signal, curved street crossing and stubby interlocking tower in the
background all make picture 1 look like Canal St. crossing on the north side of C.U.S.
