Nostalgia & History > Santa Fe 7416 East at Tunnel #2Date: 10/23/14 15:00 Santa Fe 7416 East at Tunnel #2 Author: SP8595 Tunnel #2 on Tehachapi, always a great place to shoot an Eastbound in the afternoon!
Santa Fe B40-8's 7416, 7446, GP39-2 3703 along with a F45 and a SD45 head up the hill on the front of a manifest train. Bringing up the rear was extended vision caboose 999755 with SD40-2 5178 shoving against it. Seems late in the game for a caboose, er I mean waycar to be seen in July of 1989. Date: 10/23/14 15:57 Re: Santa Fe 7416 East at Tunnel #2 Author: bakersfielddave i recall in the 1988-1990 era there used to be a westbound and eastbound freight through Edison in the early to mid afternoon hours
usually with a good selection of SF geeps ,sometimes 9 or 10 in charge both trains had a caboose i saw them meet at Bealville one afternoon in 1988 at lunchtime both cabeese passing and waving crews Edited 1 time(s).
