I was there with my father about six months later, somewhere at home I have a photo of the two of us sitting what I think was a Mikado tender. I've been trying to figure out exactly where we were for years! All I knew was we were close to the Desert Inn. You've made my day.

The Shay is in private ownership in Washington state. The Porter has been fully restored to operation and converted to 36"gauge. It operates and visits various 36" gauge lines. It is Cortez Mining # 1. see: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?10,3510392,3510397#3510397 Don Date: 01/23/15 07:46 Re: trip to Las Vegas 9-1959 Author: whistlepig Both of those were in Last Frontier Village. There was one other (#12) in front of the village which is now at the Nevada State Railroad Museum boneyard in Boulder City.
