I recall a brilliant fall day catching a D&H train at the top of Ararat dropping its helpers, brand new EMDs. I tried getting some photos from an Instamatic. That didn't work so well. I got ahead of the train down at Carbondale at the grade crossing. Tried the Instamatic again, results were just plain tragic. Slow camera, slower film, fast train. This was about a year before D&H bought the ex-DL&W and abandoned the line over Ararat.
