A proven engine design, good HP for higher speed service, AC option available. Gotta wonder.

i posted this a few times before: "I'll tell you what ... one of the first NS 66Ws on a loaded 120 car crude oil train going to Eddystone,Pa had an SD80MAC in the lead of a 2 unit consist ... when asked about the power handling the train the engineer remarked on the radio that the 80MAC unit was a beast and just wanted to keep on pullin ... no wheel slip whatsoever ... he said he'd take that unit in a consist anytime" Posted from Android Date: 01/27/15 17:51 Re: SD80MAC's in DC Author: BlackWidow As nice as the pictures are, it is always sad to see former Pennsy stripped of the catenary.
