Nostalgia & History > The "Other" ATSF 2900Date: 02/22/15 11:50 The "Other" ATSF 2900 Author: CrudPunko For those of us who followed the latter day Santa Fe, we all knew that ATSF 2900 was a GP35u. But on April 21, 1992 I caught the "other" ATSF 2900" at Riverbank CA. I found it only fitting that ATSF 2900, a Ford tractor, should be assigned to the Central Valley.
If only the locomotive wearing the same number had been there that day too. I checked my scanned colleciton of slides and the closest I could find was the 2898 near Pinole CA on February 15, 1988.
