Actually a flashback of a flashback. A train of vintage WP equipment at the Portola Museum back on railfan's day in July of 1986.

OK, somebody educate this east coast WP ignoramus. I'd never seen a ribbed side box car like the one shown, and thought that style was mostly a Milwaukee RR thing. How many did WP own? Any special service they were assigned to?

WP bought 2 of these cars from the Milwaukee Road in 1962 WP#s 3416 & 3417. They were modified with 9' doors and used for shipping appliances from Amana prior to going into MOW service.
